What are Reinforced Tyres?

Reinforced tyres have been manufactured to operate under heavier loads. With regards to the tyre handling higher loads, this can mean both pure weight from a larger vehicle such as an SUV or high speed loads from a sports car.Reinforced tyres gain their added weight bearing properties due to the capability to increase air pressure.

Please be aware reinforced tyres are not C rated or Commercial tyres. Commercial tyres are strengthened even further to use with large vans and utes.

Reinforced Markings

  • RF - Reinforced (Can be confused with 'Run Flat' which some manufacturers use the same marking for)
  • RFD - Reinforced
  • XL - eXtra Load
