The load index is a rating system, which is indicated before the speed-rating symbol. This rating system has numbers ranging from 0 to 279; each number corresponds to a specific maximum load capacity on the tyre. The common load index for passenger vehicles ranges from 62 to 126. However with an incorrect load rating, it can result in a serious accident. Again, be sure to check the manufactures placard so the tyre you purchase meets the minimum requirements of your vehicle.
